Gloverall

Back in the 1950s, Gloverall created the original duffle coat, made in check back double faced fabric, horn toggles and leather fastenings. Since then, many have created similar designs, but none can rival the classic Gloverall version.

An iconic British brand, proud of its roots, Gloverall has a long history inextricably linked with British culture. The classic duffle coat design was an adaptation of a hooded woollen coat worn by the British Navy; the toggles could be unfastened whilst wearing gloves, and the hood could fit over a peaked cap. Gloverall still maintains this association with its ‘Monty’ coat, named after Field Viscount Montgomery.

Combining a classic design heritage with modern sensibilities, the Gloverall brand has stood the test of time, continuing to produce high quality, functional, stylish outerwear for a contemporary audience. Gloverall is now recognised globally as the foremost duffle coat manufacturer, as well as a much loved British brand.
