Lacoste

Rene Lacoste the famous French tennis player, renowned both for his tennis and for his fantastic individual style.

Founded in 1923 the Lacoste clothing company was the first company to produce performance clothing for sports, with the Lacoste designed tennis shirt made from fabric called 'jersey petit piqué'or cotton pique. Also a fore-runner in celebrity driven fashion Lacoste being the David Beckham of the day. Even the famous Crocodile logo was derived from his on court nick-name and a design he wore on his tennis blazer.

The modern day Lacoste shows a fantastic colourful take on the original Preppy look. Now designed by Christophe Lemaire, Lacoste create superb quality casual wear still featuring a modern version of the original tennis shirt.
