The Evolution of the Polo Shirt
The designer Polo shirt we all know & love today started off life as a sports shirt, a Tennis shirt to be exact. Designed by the famous French tennis champion Rene Lacoste in the 1920's and put into production after his tennis career finished, the shirt was one of the first great sports wear/fashion crossovers. The shirt was then taken up by Polo Players & became known as a Polo Shirt.
