Designer Jackets
One of the main statements in any mans wardrobe is his selection of jackets, unfortunately there is no one jacket fits all
solution. The usage and style of different jackets is endless; and while there are many seemingly cheap options available, it
is generally better to build your collection of really great jackets over the course of a few seasons, adding & removing say
two to four jackets every year.
The right jacket for the right occasion
Jackets fall into different categories and each category would have a summer and a winter version. The seasonal difference is
not so important in many groups of jacket these days as we all travel by car or train. One area where the weight of the jacket
is important is outerwear. Within this group there are practical weather proof garments, and if you attend many outdoor events
a great piece of winter outerwear is a must.
At least one leather jacket is also recommended, and remember these only get better with age so pick the right one spend a bit
more & you'll have a jacket that will look good in ten years time. Add to those two a great piece of lighter weight outerwear,
possibly a little shorter & smarter, ideal for in the car and you have the basis of your outerwear jacket collection.
Smart, Very Smart or Just Cool
As well as outerwear there are also smarter jackets to consider. What type of jacket you require is largely a lifestyle choice,
usually made when you consider when and where it's likely to be used. With today's increasingly acceptable casual lifestyle,
many people rarely, if ever, require a traditional smarter jacket or suit, whilst others may wear them for work on a daily
basis.
Although we offer a great selection of tailored jackets & suits as separates, it might be a better option, for those who
don't wear this type of classic tailoring, to look at a crossover jacket, say tailored but with a military flavour. This would
give you a great smarter option, which, because it can be easily dressed down, would ultimately be much more practical. So
consider the requirements carefully before you make your choice.
A good jacket is a great investment. And a great jacket collection is something you can build on to form a real cornerstone of
your wardrobe.
