Timberland
In 1955, when Nathan Swartz purchased the Abington Shoe Company based in Massachusetts the Timberland brand began to grow. Introducing his sons into the business, the Abington Shoe Company began to manufacture shoes for private labels.
The Swartz family developed the first ever injection moulded shoes in 1965; allowing for the first ever fully waterproof shoe as there was no longer need for the upper to be stitched to the sole. They stormed the footwear market with their first ever Timberland boot in 1973. With their continued success, the Swartz family finally transformed the Abington Shoe Company into the Timberland Company in 1978.
Since then, Timberland continued to alter the footwear industry, always appearing to bring a touch of something special to their products, customers and employees. The Timberland brand is entirely dedicated to improving the environment, always looking for new initiatives that will reduce their environmental footprint.
Timberland are not just boots of a high-quality, but a loyal brand that customers can trust in. This has rooted the Timberland brand in footwear that will continue to revolutionise its products.
