Joseph: Contemporary Ready-to-Wear Clothing
Established by Moroccan entrepreneur Joseph Ettedgui in London in 1972, Joseph grew from a small shop attached to a hairdressing salon in King's Road, Chelsea, owned by Ettedgui and his two brothers, Maurice and Franklin. From here, the first Joseph large-scale retail outlet opening on Sloane Street, London in 1979. Since then, the brand has expanded into more than 20 London stores, with eight additional outlets in New York, Paris, Leeds and Manchester.
The brand encompasses plenty of casual and smart items of clothing. Simplistic in style, with plenty of comfort, Joseph uses only the best quality materials to create a truly luxury garment. Joseph was responsible for bringing now renowned designers to the world's attention; Kenzo, Castelbajac, and Yohji Yamamoto could all be credited to the designer brand.
Joseph prides itself in being a place where people meet and share ideas, designers are introduced, along with models, editors and photographers. Joseph says that the brand is a "focus for creativity, somewhere to find inspiration."
Step forward to present day, and Joseph is stronger than ever. Under the creative direction of Louise Trotter, Joseph presents a contemporary ready-to-wear collection that emphasises luxury in each and every piece.
